Free Printable Manger Scenes to Color
Posted on 14:25 by kumar
When our eldest was small, she loved (and I mean LOVED) to color. For reasons known only to a toddler, she referred to her crayons as her "I go colors." We do not know if this was a statement of intent turned noun. Perhaps it was just easier for her to say. At any rate, we observed the "I go color" ritual religiously. I guess that's why I host a blog about free coloring pages. In our home, the crayon and all the creativity and joy it stood for was sacred. Anyway, enough family triva. Here are free printable Christms manger scenes to color. Print these free nativity sets children. Each manger scene has several pieces (Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, wisemen, angels, shepherds and animals). Use for decoration and to teach Christmas Bible stories. When I made these, I had kids color one part of the nativity scend each day of advent to countdown to Christmas. read more

Diwali, also sometimes called Deepavali, is the Hindu new year. It's a five-day festival celebrated by Sikhs, Hindus and Jains around the world. It's called the "festival of lights" and honors the deities Ganesha (the elephant-headed goddess, that's her on the left) and Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity. Diwali 2012 is celebrated from November 13-17 in the western calendar. Diwali means "garland of lights" (or row of lights) in Sanskrit and is referred to as the "Festival of lights." Free Printable Activities from 'The Hunger Games' Book, Movie
Posted on 10:18 by kumar
To say that the "The Hunger Games," by Suzanne Collins, is popular, is like saying Dr. Seuss writes cute stories. "The Hunger Games" books took the middle school readers by literature storm of hurricane proportions. "The Hunger Games" movie blasted to top spot when it came out in March. The saga continues in "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay," neither of which remain long on book shelves and both of which will be equally epic movies (if my Spidey senses are anything to go by). My hard to please literati family loved books and movies, from 14-year-old daughter, to adult sons to 48-year-old husband.
Planning to teach a unit on "The Hunger Games" books or movie? Here are free printable lesson plans and activities for several different content areas. Even older kids will love the coloring pages of Katniss, Peeta and the residents of the Capital. As for age level, the movie is acceptable for most ages, but the books are graphic. I recommend using "The Hunger Games" books with kids over 12. Read on for Free Printable Activities from 'The Hunger Games' Book, Movie

Free Printable Jewish Passover Activities, Coloring Pages, Games, Crafts
Posted on 20:32 by kumar
Passover or Pesach, is the highest celebration in the Jewish Hebrew calendar. Passover is an eight day holiday, beginning with two days of no work, four days of limited work and ending with two days of no work. The passover celebration includes several Seder meals, with roast lamb, bitter herbs and matzo bread. Passover commemorates the passing over of the angel of death during the ten plagues of Egypt. God punished the Egyptians for the enslavement of the Hebrews. First born male infants were to die unless the blood of a lamb was put on the lintels and door posts. Passover, or Pesach, is part of Christian calendar as well; it was at their passover meal that Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist or communion. Read more at Free Printable Jewish Passover Activities

Free Printable St.Patrick's Day Crafts, Activities
Posted on 16:26 by kumar
St. Patrick's Day is a feast day, celebrated on March 17, in the Catholic liturgical calendar. Like Valentine's Day, it has also become a major U.S. holiday. Patricus, a Roman Briton was taken from his home as a slave, but returned as a bishop to bring Christianity to Ireland. Speaking as a descendant of Irish immigrants, I'd like to see the day celebrated with fewer green shamrocks and more focus on the religious and cultural significance of the holiday. Here are ways to celebrate the man we call St. Patrick and explore Irish traditions with kids. You'll find lots of great printable coloring pages, Celtic and Irish crafts, lesson plans and fun! I enjoy looking for free printable cartoon coloring pages, but my real passion lies in finding homeschooling and religious education free printables. I remember my early teaching days and late homeschooling career, sans computer.
