Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a Fox Kids TV series from 1993, originated from the Japanese Tokusatsu Super Sentai Series. The Power Rangers have different colors and super powers that they morph into so that they can battle evil. The Fox show was westernized but still contained Japanese themes, weapons and terminology.
